Toxaway - Pettit Loop

This scenic18-mile loop begins and ends at Pettit Lake, a large moraine lake on the valley floor. The loop is popular for backpackers and day trippers. Hikers may encounter features that have made the Sawtooths famous: toothed peaks, glacial boulders, large and small mountain lakes, avalanche runs, talus slides, granite cliffs, mountain meadows, waterfalls, cascading streams, and dense stands of lodgepole pine. The trail head starts about 2 miles off Highway 75 at Pettit Lake Campground. >>Hiking Map
